Reports on Progress in Physics

ISSN: 0034-4885eISSN: 1361-6633

Published monthly (12 issues per year) and covering all branches of physics, Reports on Progress in Physics is a prestigious journal for the publication of reviews surveying the development of selected topics, typically over the previous decade, within a wider context. Articles combine a critical evaluation of the field for established workers with a reliable and accessible introduction for newcomers and specialists in other fields. The journal has traditionally published Review Articles. Recently two other article types have been introduced to deal with subjects that have not reached a level of maturity necessary for a full review: Reports on Progress and Key Issues Reviews.

Research in Nondestructive Evaluation

ISSN: 0934-9847eISSN: 1432-2110

Research in Nondestructive Evaluation® is the American Society for Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation’s archival research journal. RNDE® contains the results of original research in all areas of nondestructive evaluation (NDE). The journal covers experimental and theoretical investigations dealing with the scientific and engineering bases of NDE, its measurement and methodology, and a wide range of applications of materials and structures that relate to the entire life cycle, from manufacture to use and retirement. Illustrative topics include advances in the underlying science of acoustic, thermal, electrical, magnetic, optical and ionizing radiation techniques and their applications to NDE problems. These problems include the nondestructive characterization of a wide variety of material properties and their degradation in service, nonintrusive sensors for monitoring manufacturing and materials processes, new techniques and combinations of techniques for detecting and characterizing hidden discontinuities and distributed damage in materials, standardization concepts and quantitative approaches for advanced NDE techniques, and long-term continuous monitoring of structures and assemblies.

Results in Physics

eISSN: 2211-3797
DOAJ Logo
Results in Physics is an open access journal offering authors the opportunity to publish in all fundamental and interdisciplinary areas of physics, materials science, and applied physics. Papers of a theoretical, computational, and experimental nature are all welcome. Results in Physics accepts papers that are scientifically sound, technically correct and provide valuable new knowledge to the physics community.

Results in Physics welcomes two types of papers:

1. Full research papers

2. Microarticles: very short papers, no longer than 2 pages. They may consist of a single, but well-described piece of information, such as:
- Data and/or a plot plus a description
- Description of a new method or instrumentation
- Negative results
- Concept or design study

All submitted manuscripts are fully peer-reviewed and after acceptance, a publication fee is charged to cover all editorial, production, and archiving costs. Different publication fees apply for the two types of papers: USD 750 for full papers and USD 500 for microarticles (excluding taxes). Accepted papers are freely accessible to anyone.

Reviews in Mathematical Physics

ISSN: 0129-055XeISSN: 1793-6659

Reviews in Mathematical Physics fills the need for a review journal in the field, but also accepts original research papers of high quality. The review papers - introductory and survey papers - are of relevance not only to mathematical physicists, but also to mathematicians and theoretical physicists interested in interdisciplinary topics. Original research papers are not subject to page limitations provided they are of importance to this readership. It is desirable that such papers have an expository part understandable to a wider readership than experts. Papers with the character of a scientific letter are usually not suitable for RMP.

Reviews in Physics

eISSN: 2405-4283
DOAJ Logo

Reviews in Physics is an open access Journal, publishing review papers on topics in all areas of (applied) physics. The journal provides a platform for researchers who wish to summarize a field of physics research and share this work as widely as possible. The published papers provide an overview of the main developments on a particular topic, with an emphasis on recent developments, and sketch an outlook on future developments. The journal focuses on short review papers (max 15 pages) and these are freely available after publication. All submitted manuscripts are fully peer-reviewed and after acceptance a publication fee is charged to cover all editorial, production, and archiving costs.

Reviews of Modern Physics

ISSN: 0034-6861eISSN: 1539-0756

In 1913, the APS took over the operation of the Physical Review, which had been founded in 1893 at Cornell University. The Physical Review was followed by Reviews of Modern Physics in 1929, and by Physical Review Letters in 1958. Over the years, Physical Review has subdivided into five separate sections A, B, C, D, E, as the fields of physics proliferated and the number of submissions grew. Two online-only journals, Special Topics — Accelerators and Beams and Special Topics — Physics Education Research were launched in 1998 and 2005, respectively. In 2008, to assist readers in identifying exceptional research, APS launched Physics, a free, online publication containing commentaries, condensed review articles, and summaries of selected papers in Physical Review Letters and the Physical Review series. The journals of the APS embody the mission of the Society "to advance and diffuse the knowledge of Physics." We strive to produce journals of the highest quality, and at the same time, to keep our journals accessible to researchers and students at institutions of all types and sizes, everywhere in the world, through ongoing efforts to reduce production costs and through policies such as tiered pricing and reduced-price or free subscriptions for developing countries.

Russian Journal of Mathematical Physics

ISSN: 1061-9208eISSN: 1555-6638

The peer-reviewed Russian Journal of Mathematical Physics addresses a broad range of topics, including functional analysis, linear and partial differential equations, algebras, modern differential and algebraic geometry and topology, representations of Lie groups, calculus of variations, asymptotic methods, random process theory, dynamical systems, and control theory. The journal presents mainly original papers with full proof, but also publishes brief communications and state-of-the-art reviews. In addition to purely mathematical papers, the journal is hospitable to theses with less rigorous, or 'physical', levels of proof, which are sometimes useful and lead to major advances in science, as well as to analyses based on the heuristic or speculative approaches. Recently-declassified classic papers will also finally see the light of day.The journal is international in scope, and invites papers in English from mathematical physicists everywhere.
