Koedoe, with the sub-title 'African Protected Area Conservation and Science' is an influential, frequently cited, accredited, peer reviewed and Open Access journal published since 1958. Koedoe promotes and contributes to the scientific (biology) and environmental (ecology and biodiversity) conservation practices of Africa, by defining the key practices that will ensure biological diversity in Africa.

Numerous journals publish papers on systematic and / or morphological research. It is not easy to keep track of them all and to decide which one is the best journal to submit a given manuscript to. In order to assist others with finding the right journal for their manuscripts, I decided to put a list of journals on my websites that publish papers in the abovementioned areas. The list comes in two versions: one is alphabetical, in the other the journals are ranked by the average number of citations an article receives in the year after its publication.

Lake and Reservoir Management (LRM) publishes original, previously unpublished studies relevant to lake and reservoir management. Papers address the management of lakes and reservoirs, their watersheds and tributaries, along with the limnology and ecology needed for sound management of these systems. Case studies that advance the science of lake management or confirm important management concepts are appropriate. Papers on economic, social, regulatory and policy aspects of lake management are also welcome with appropriate supporting data. Literature syntheses and papers developing a conceptual foundation of lake and watershed ecology will be considered for publication, but are not the primary focus of this journal. Shorter notes that add to an important and documented base of knowledge or that convey important early results of long-term studies will also be considered if the contribution is significant. All submissions are subject to peer review to assure uniformity and high quality in materials published by NALMS. Typical areas of study addressed in LRM papers include: * Assessment of lake resources, uses, problems and threats * Monitoring methods or programs and their implications for management * Ecology and management of invasive species * Evaluation of in-lake management approaches and impacts * Evaluation of watershed-based management approaches and impacts * Social and economic dimensions of lake management LRM functions as a record of advances in lake management and a resource for lake managers, researchers and policy makers. Papers must demonstrate relevance to lake management, integrate findings with current knowledge, apply sound study design and data analysis, and convey an important message clearly and concisely.

Lakes & Reservoirs: Research and Management is the official publication of the International Lake Environment Committee Foundation (ILEC). The Journal aims to promote environmentally sound management of natural and artificial lakes, consistent with sustainable development policies. The Journal publishes international research on the management and conservation of lakes and reservoirs to facilitate the international exchange of results.

Land (ISSN 2073-445X) is an international and cross-disciplinary scholarly journal of land resources and soil science. It publishes reviews, regular research papers, communications and short notes, and there is no restriction on the length of the papers. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical research in as much detail as possible. Landscape and Urban Planning is an international journal aimed at advancing conceptual, scientific, and applied understandings of landscape in order to promote sustainable solutions for landscape change. Landscapes are visible and integrative social-ecological systems with variable spatial and temporal dimensions. They have expressive aesthetic, natural, and cultural qualities that are perceived and valued by people in multiple ways and invite actions resulting in landscape change. Landscapes are increasingly urban in nature and ecologically and culturally sensitive to changes at local through global scales. Multiple disciplines and perspectives are required to understand landscapes and align social and ecological values to ensure the sustainability of landscapes.
