Izvestiya, Physics of the Solid Earth (Fizika zemli), founded in 1965, publishes results of original theoretical and experimental research in relevant areas of the physics of the earth's interior and applied geophysics. The journal presents results of studies conducted by researchers at institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences and other institutions of the Russian Federation. Contributions from foreign authors are also welcome.

One of the most important physics periodicals published in Russia, JETP Letters presents timely and topical short papers, emphasizing fundamental theoretical and experimental research in all fields of physics, ranging from condensed matter, gravitation, field theory, elementary particles and nuclei, plasma, nonlinear physics, quantum information, biological physics and more. The Russian edition is published since 1965 (monthly double issues, and twice a month on-line). The journal accepts and publishes in this edition manuscripts submitted in Russian or English. The English edition of journal (twice a month), prepared by IAPC 'Nauka/Interperiodica' and distributed by Springer, appears two months after the original Russian version in print and on-line.

Journal of Applied Mechanics and Technical Physics presents top-level work in fluid mechanics and applied physics. Each issue contains valuable contributions on: hypersonic flow, boundary layer theory, turbulence and hydrodynamic stability, free boundary flows, plasma physics, shock waves, explosives and detonation processes, combustion theory, multiphase flows, heat and mass transfer, composite materials, thermal properties of new materials, plasticity, creep, and failure.

The Journal publishes selected articles from Sibirskii Zhurnal Industrial’noi Matematiki and Diskretnyi Analiz i Issledovanie Operatsii on mathematical research in natural sciences, technology, ecology, medicine, and economics. The Journal of Bioethical Inquiry is a forum for discussing and debating ethical, cultural and social issues arising in medicine, the health sciences and health care in general. Coverage includes core areas of conventional bioethics, such as research, clinical practice and medical technology. The journal also addresses questions of pressing contemporary relevance, such as the implications of current world events for the health of populations, and critical analyses of specific social policies around the world and their likely impact on health and welfare and systems of power. In addition to original research, regular features include: New developments; Reader Response; and case scenarios with commentaries.

The Journal mainly publishes original academic papers which represent the latest research achievements in such fields as materials science and engineering, metallurgical science and engineering, mineral processing, geology and mining, chemical engineering, and mechanical, electronic and information engineering.

Journal of Coatings Technology and Research (JCTR) is a forum for the exchange of research, experience, knowledge and ideas among those with a professional interest in the science, technology and manufacture of functional, protective and decorative coatings including paints, inks and related coatings and their raw materials, and similar topics. JCTR offers Research papers, describing investigations of chemistry, physics, materials science and engineering studies relevant to surface coatings; Applications papers on experimental solutions for technological problems in the design, formulation, manufacture, application, use and performance of surface coatings; Review articles offering broad, critical overviews of advances in coatings science; and Brief Communications, presenting notes and letters on research topics of limited scope or immediate impact. JCTR is published in cooperation with the American Coatings Association (ACA) and the Oil & Colour Chemists' Association (OCCA).

The Journal welcomes original works in thermophysics from various countries. The Journal focuses on experimental work, theory, analysis, and computational studies for better understanding of engineering and environmental aspects of thermophysics. The editorial board encourages the authors to submit papers with emphasis on new scientific aspects in experimental and visualization techniques, mathematical models of thermophysical process, energy, and environmental applications. The Journal covers all subject areas of thermophysics, including heat and mass transfer, multiphase flow, conduction, radiation, combustion, thermogasdynamics, rarefied gas flow, environmental protection in power engineering, and many others.Until 2002 the Journal was titled the Russian Journal of Engineering Thermophysics.

The Journal of Failure Analysis and Prevention (JFAP) is written for and read by individuals involved in failure analysis, materials scientists, and mechanical, manufacturing, aeronautical, civil, chemical, corrosion, and design engineers. Journal of Forestry Research (JFR), a quarterly journal published by the Northeast Forestry University and Ecological Society of China under administration of the Ministry of Education of P. R. China, was founded in 1990. As an English language journal, the journal mainly reports on practice and research in Ecosystem management, Forest management, Tree breeding, Silviculture, Forest ecology, Landscape ecology, Forest soils, Forest disease and insects, Wildlife ecology and management, Biology engineering and technology, Wood science, Technology of wood processing, Forest engineering. Co-sponsored by the Geographical Society of China and the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS, the Journal of Geographical Sciences aims to facilitate and strengthen academic exchange on geography research between China and other countries, and to offer a forum for discussion between geographers in China and abroad. Journal of Ichthyology is an English version of Voprosy ikhtiologii. Since its foundation in 1953, as an irregulary published collection of papers, and its establishment as a periodical in 1961, it has remained the leading domestic journal in all fields of ichthyology. All articles are reviewed and cover fish ecology, morphology, genetics, physiology, embryology, systematics and fisheries biology. The Editorial Board welcomes articles from all countries of the world, provided they meet our scientific standards. Papers that are submitted in English and accepted by the Editorial Board are translated into Russian.
