To publish original papers related to the scientific and technological development of welding, inspection, and related fields.
A unique, authoritative, international and multi-disciplinary periodical for those with a research and application interest in all branches of soldering and surface mount technologies.
Solid State Communications is an international medium for the publication of short communications on significant developments in condensed matter science, giving scientists immediate access to important, recently completed work. The journal publishes original experimental and theoretical research on the physical and chemical properties of solids and other condensed systems and also on their preparation. The submission of manuscripts reporting research on the basic physics of materials science and devices, as well as of state-of-the-art microstructures and nanostructures, is encouraged.A coherent quantitative treatment emphasizing new physics is expected rather than a simple accumulation of experimental data. Consistent with these aims, the submitted manuscripts should be kept concise and short, usually not longer than four printed pages. The number of figures and tables should also be kept to a minimum. Instructions for the preparation of manuscripts appear in the first issue of each volume. Solid State Communications will also publish important initial results of ongoing research which should be referred to in more extensive papers being submitted elsewhere at a later date.It is strongly recommended that authors submit their manuscripts either to a local (or nearby) Editor or to one who is an expert in their field of endeavour. The Fast-Track section of Solid State communications is the venue for very rapid publication of short communications on significant developments in condensed matter science. The goal is to offer the broad condensed matter community quick and immediate access to publish recently completed papers in research areas that are rapidly evolving and in which there are developments with great potential impact.
This interdisciplinary journal is devoted to the physics, chemistry and materials science of diffusion, mass transport, and reactivity of solids. The major part of each issue is devoted to articles on: (i) physics and chemistry of defects in solids; (ii) reactions in and on solids, e.g. intercalation, corrosion, oxidation, sintering; (iii) ion transport measurements, mechanisms and theory. Related technological applications are also included, provided their characteristics are interpreted in terms of the basic solid state properties.Review papers and relevant symposium proceedings are welcome.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. However, given the wide availability of industrial simulators (Atlas, MEDICI etc), device simulation papers should be coupled with experiment or novel analytical approaches. Also, materials growth and characterization papers should be relevant to a current or future device technology.

Steel Research International is a journal providing a forum for the publication of high-quality manuscripts in areas ranging from process metallurgy and metal forming to materials engineering as well as process control and testing. The emphasis is on steel and related metals and on materials involved in the processing, such as refractories and slags. Examples are given as follows:.
Themenuberblick: .
The journal represents a selection of translated materials from two Russian ferrous metallurgical journals: StalB´ and Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii. Chernaya Metallurgiya. It covers new developments in blast furnaces, steelmaking, rolled products, tubes, and metal manufacturing as well as unconventional methods of metallurgy and conservation of resources. Papers in materials science and relevant commercial applications make up a considerable portion of the journal's contents. There is an emphasis on metal quality and cost effectiveness of metal production and treatment.
Strain is an international journal that contains contributions from leading-edge research on the measurement of the mechanical behaviour of structures and systems. Strain updates engineers and scientists with new developments in measurement and current research activities. The journal includes papers from all engineering disciplines that deal with material behaviour and degradation under load, structural design and measurement techniques. Although the thrust of the journal is experimental, numerical simulations and validation are included in the coverage.
Strength of Materials focuses on the strength of materials and structural components subjected to different types of force and thermal loadings, the limiting strength criteria of structures, and the theory of strength of structures. Consideration is given to actual operating conditions, problems of crack resistance and theories of failure, the theory of oscillations of real mechanical systems, and calculations of the stress-strain state of structural components. Strength of Materials is a translation of the peer-reviewed Ukrainian journal Problemy Prochnosti. The Russian-language edition is published and copyrighted by the Pisarenko Institute of Problems of Strength of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
