Marine Pollution Bulletin is concerned with the rational use of maritime and marine resources in estuaries, the seas and oceans, as well as with documenting marine pollution and introducing new forms of measurement and analysis. A wide range of topics are discussed as news, comment, reviews and research reports, not only on effluent disposal and pollution control, but also on the management, economic aspects and protection of the marine environment in general.A distinctive feature of Marine Pollution Bulletin is the number of different categories of articles which are published. Papers ('Reports') form the core of the journal, while 'Baselines' document measurements which are expected to have value in the future. 'Reviews' are generally invited by the editors on subjects which cross traditional lines, but suggestions for topics are welcomed. 'Viewpoints' are a less formal forum for scientists to comment freely on matters of relevant national and international importance. Other sections of the Bulletin include 'News', 'New Products', 'Conference Reports', 'Conference Diary', 'Correspondence' and 'Book Reviews'. Two volumes are published annually, one of which contains a series of special issues on topics of particular current interest. The importance and influence of these special issues, which address the major marine environmental concerns of our time, is increasingly being recognised not just by the wider scientific community, but also by environmental policy makers at national and international level.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. This journal is devoted to publishing creative and scholarly economic analyses of a range of issues related to natural resource use in the global marine environment. The journal welcomes conceptual and empirical investigations aimed at addressing real world policy problems, including studies of fisheries, aquaculture, seafood marketing and trade, marine mammals, recreation, pollution, oil and gas, coastal land use, estuaries and watersheds.
Thirty years ago maritime management decisions were taken on the basis of experience and hunch. Today, the experience is augmented by expert analysis and informed by research findings. Maritime Policy & Management provides the latest findings and analyses, and the opportunity for exchanging views through its Comment Section. A multi-disciplinary and international refereed journal, it brings together papers on the different topics that concern the maritime industry. Emphasis is placed on business, organizational, economic, sociolegal and management topics at port, community, shipping company and shipboard levels. The Journal also provides details of conferences and book reviews. Materials Advances is an international, gold open access journal, publishing high-quality research across the breadth of materials science. The journal accepts experimental or theoretical studies that report new understanding, applications, properties and synthesis of materials, building on and complementing the materials content already published across the Royal Society of Chemistry journal portfolio. Submissions are handled by our high profile associate editors, all of whom also look after submissions to Journal of Materials Chemistry A, B & C. The Materials Advances publishing experience comes with the reputation, standards, commitment and expertise you would expect from an RSC journal, plus the visibility boost that comes from being open access and part of the Journal of Materials Chemistry family.
Formerly the IMA Journal of Mathematics Applied in Medicine and Biology.Mathematical Medicine and Biology publishes original articles with a significant mathematical content addressing topics in medicine and biology. Papers exploiting modern developments in applied mathematics are particularly welcome. The biomedical relevance of mathematical models should be demonstrated clearly and validation by comparison against experiment is strongly encouraged. The journal welcomes contributions relevant to any area of the life sciences including: * biomechanics * biophysics * cell biology * developmental biology * ecology and the environment * epidemiology * immunology * infectious diseases * neuroscience * pharmacology * physiology * population biology.
The Mediterranean Marine Science Journal is published semi-annually by the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR), replacing the previous journal entitled "Thalassographica". The Journal welcomes original articles, short notes and extended reviews in all fields of Oceanography (physical Oceanography, operational Oceanography, Chemistry, Biology, Geology and Geophysics), Limnology, Fisheries and Aquaculture in the Mediterranean area and the adjacent regions.

Microbial Ecology is a dedicated international forum for the presentation of high-quality scientific investigations of how microorganisms interact with their environment, with each other and with their hosts. It offers articles of original research in full paper and note formats, as well as brief reviews, commentaries and topical position papers. The journal was founded more than 50 years ago by Dr. Ralph Mitchell, Gordon McKay Professor of Applied Biology at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. It has evolved to become a premier location for the presentation of manuscripts that represent advances in the field of microbial ecology.
Coverage includes the ecology of microorganisms in natural and engineered environments; genomic, metagenomic and molecular advances in understanding of microbial interactions; microbial diversity and phylogeny; microbial drivers of biogeochemical processes; inter- and intraspecific microbial communication; ecological studies of human, animal, plant and insect microbiology and d
Microbiology Spectrum® (Spectrum) is an online-only, fully open-access journal that publishes research from all domains of basic, applied, and clinical microbial sciences. Rather than making subjective evaluations of potential impact, Microbiology Spectrum publishes research studies that are of high technical quality and are useful to the community. All decisions are made by an international and diverse editorial board that fully represents the microbiology research community. The journal provides authors with fair, rapid, and rigorous peer review. The journal offers rapid publication and wide dissemination of excellent research at no cost to readers.
Founded in 1981 (as the International Journal of Mine Water), Mine Water and the Environment presents original contributions addressing technical questions and practical issues related to the evaluation, prediction, prevention, or control of water problems at mining operations or their impact on the environment. Both the journal and its audience are interdisciplinary. Published papers convey new technical information by and for researchers and practitioners in this field. Coverage includes laboratory and field experiments, modeling efforts, studies of relevant field sites, technical evaluations of new technology, and engineering applications. Mine Water and the Environment is the journal of the International Mine Water Association (IMWA).
