The mandate of the Journal of Canadian Studies / Revue d'études canadiennes is first, to publish the best scholarship about Canadian history, culture and society, whether the researcher is junior or senior, living in Canada or abroad; and second, to serve as a vehicle for disseminating solid, original research about Canada that falls between the cracks of more narrowly defined journals.

The Journal of Chinese Military History is a peer-reviewed semi-annual that publishes research articles and book reviews. It aims to fill the need for a journal devoted specifically to China's martial past and takes the broadest possible view of military history, embracing both the study of battles and campaigns and the broader, social-history oriented approaches that have become known as "the new military history." It aims to publish a balanced mix of articles representing a variety of approaches to both modern and pre-modern Chinese military history. The journal also welcomes comparative and theoretical work as well as studies of the military interactions between China and other states and peoples, including East Asian neighbours such as Japan, Korea, and Vietnam.

Journal of Chinese Overseas publishes research articles, reports and book reviews dealing with Chinese overseas throughout the world, and the communities from which they trace their origins. Moving across regions and disciplines, the Journal examines Chineseness in its many diverse settings. With a Board of Editors drawn from fields as varied as history, anthropology, sociology, geography, cultural studies and political science, the Journal contributes to transnational studies, as well as the study of Chinese communities in specific national contexts.

The Journal of Church and State is concerned with what has been called the "greatest subject in the history of the West." It seeks to stimulate interest, dialogue, research, and publication in the broad area of religion and the state. JCS publishes constitutional, historical, philosophical, theological, and sociological studies on religion and the body politic in various countries and cultures of the world, including the United States. Each issue features, in addition to a timely editorial, five or more major articles, and thirty-five to forty reviews of significant books related to church and state. Periodically, important ecclesiastical documents and government texts of legislation and/or court decisions are also published. Regular features include "Notes on Church State Affairs", which reports current developments throughout the world, and a list of "Recent Doctoral Dissertations in Church and State.".

The end of the Cold War has released a flood of new archival materials and memoirs both in the former Communist world and in Western countries. Declassified documentation and first-hand accounts have enabled scholars to gain a much better understanding of some of the key events of the past century. Journal of Cold War Studies is the first peer-reviewed journal to feature research based on these new sources.

The Journal of Contemporary History (JCH) is a quarterly peer-reviewed international journal publishing articles and book reviews on twentieth-century history, covering a broad range of historical approaches including social, economic, political, diplomatic, intellectual and cultural. JCH is edited by Richard Evans, University of Cambridge and Stanley Payne, University of Wisconsin.

The Journal of Cultural Heritage is devoted to:- Safeguard, Conservation and exploitation of cultural heritage- Analyses and preservation of biodiversity- Sociological and economical analyses- Computer sciences in Cultural heritageThe journal focuses on a specific new methodology in cultural heritage conservation or exploitation. It also presents the latest news concerning public administration bodies and the many activities proposed by international authorities.Occasionally, thematic issues are published as electronic supplements, available on ScienceDirect.

The editors invite manuscript submissions of between 25-45 pages (approximately 8,000-10,000 words), double-spaced (in English), which relate to topics related to any aspect of early American history, again broadly defined. The Journal of Early American History will also include reviews of recent books.

The official publication of the North American Patristics Society (NAPS), the Journal of Early Christian Studies focuses on the study of Christianity in the context of late ancient societies and religions from c.e. 100-700. Incorporating The Second Century (an earlier publication), the Journal publishes the best of traditional patristics scholarship while showcasing articles that call attention to newer themes and methodologies than those appearing in other patristics journals. An extensive book review section is featured in every issue.

The early modern period of world history (ca. 1300-1800) was marked by a rapidly increasing level of global interaction. Between the aftermath of Mongol conquest in the East and the onset of industrialization in the West, a framework was established for new kinds of contacts and collective self-definition across an unprecedented range of human and physical geographies. The Journal of Early Modern History, the official journal of the University of Minnesota Center for Early Modern History, is the first scholarly journal dedicated to the study of early modernity from this world-historical perspective, whether through explicitly comparative studies, or by the grouping of studies around a given thematic, chronological, or geographic frame.

The Journal of Eastern African Studies is the international publication of the British Institute in Eastern Africa, published three times each year. It aims to promote fresh scholarly enquiry on the region from within the humanities and the social sciences, and to encourage work that communicates across disciplinary boundaries. It seeks to foster inter-disciplinary analysis, strong comparative perspectives, and research employing the most significant theoretical or methodological approaches for the region. The Journal of Egyptian History aims to encourage and stimulate a focused debate on writing and interpreting Egyptian history ranging from the Neolithic foundations of Ancient Egypt to its modern reception. It covers all aspects of Ancient Egyptian history (political, social, economic, and intellectual) and of modern historiography about Ancient Egypt (methodologies, hermeneutics, interplay between historiography and other disciplines, and history of modern Egyptological historiography).
