ICAN: Infant, Child, & Adolescent Nutrition (ICAN) is a bi-monthly, peer-reviewed journal on the nutritional care of children from birth through adolescence, providing practical information derived from research and practice. ICAN publishes articles translating original basic and clinical nutrition research for clinicians, evidence-based practice innovations, research reviews, commentaries on pediatric nutrition and eating behavior, case reports, and more.

ICU Director (ICUD) is a bi-monthly peer-reviewed journal for critical care unit directors, intensivists, and ICU managers, offering practical information regarding clinical management and unit operations. ICUD addresses effective practice assurance, enhancing leadership and team-building, policy development and implementing change, finances and planning, staffing and retention, quality improvement and safety, education and regulatory compliance.

All case reports submitted are peer reviewed and if accepted for publication, authors are notified of the decision and requested to pay an Article Processing Fee. Following payment of this fee, the article is made universally available to all on http://www.sciencedirect.com and http://www.IDCasereports.com.

IDCases will be indexed in Scopus and Google Scholar.

IEEE Journal of Translational Engineering in Health and Medicine will be a fully open access product that bridges the engineering and clinical worlds, focusing on detailed descriptions of advanced technical solutions to a clinical need along with clinical results and healthcare relevance. The journal is aimed at providing a platform for state-of-the-art technology directions in the interdisciplinary field of biomedical engineering, embracing engineering, life sciences and medicine. A unique aspect of the journal is its ability to foster collaboration between physicians and engineers for presenting broad and compelling real world technological and engineering solutions that can be implemented in the interest of improving quality of patient care and treatment outcomes, thereby reducing costs and improving efficiency. The journal provides an active forum for clinical research and relevant state-of the-art technology for members of all the IEEE societies that have an interest in biomedical engineering as well as reaching out directly to physicians and the medical community through the American Medical Association (AMA) and other clinical societies. The scope of the journal would include, but not be limited, to topics on: Medical devices, healthcare delivery systems, global healthcare initiatives, and ICT based services; Technological relevance to healthcare cost reduction; Technology affecting healthcare management, decision-making, and policy; Advanced technical work that is applied to solving specific clinical needs.

IEEE Pulse covers both general and technical articles on current technologies and methods used in biomedical and clinical engineering; societal implications of medical technologies; current news items; book reviews; patent descriptions; and correspondence. Special interest departments, students, law, clinical engineering, ethics, new products, society news, historical features and government.

The IEEE Transactions on NanoBioscience reports on original, innovative, and interdisciplinary research, both fundamental and applied, focusing on nano- to micro-scale biological systems. The journal invites contributions describing advances in bio-science, -technology, and -engineering, from biomolecular to multi-cellular domains, concerning their physics (e.g., mechanics, materials, electromagnetism); their chemistry (e.g., DNA, proteins, biochemical pathways); or their information storage and processing (e.g., biological signals, algorithms, and computation).

"All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." - George Orwell, Animal FarmInvertebrates may be spineless, but they certainly aren't worthless. Consider the honey bee, which pollinates 80% of our agricultural crops, or oysters, which clarify water and provide habitats for other aquatic life. And invertebrates studied in the lab are helping to advance research in almost every area of biology and medicine-from embryonic development to aging processes. Yet despite these important contributions and the fact that invertebrates make up over 95% of all animal species, they get only a tiny fraction of the respect and attention paid to animals with backbones, even in the laboratory. This much-needed issue of the ILAR Journal sheds light on the importance, versatility, and care and welfare requirements of invertebrates. The authors present both practical and philosophical matters in ways that will be broadly accessible and useful to those who interact with these underappreciated species.
