The Southeastern Naturalist is a peer-reviewed interdisciplinary scientific journal with a regional focus on the southeastern United States. It features research articles on terrestrial, fresh-water, and marine organisms, and their environments. It focuses on field ecology, biology, behavior, biogeography, wildlife and fisheries management, taxonomy, evolution, anatomy, physiology, geology, and related fields. It is a sister journal of the Northeastern Naturalist. Both journals are identical in focus, format, quality, and features, thus providing an integrated publishing and research resource for the eastern part of North America.

Southern Forests: a Journal of Forest Science is one of the leading forestry journals in the Southern Hemisphere. The journal publishes scientific articles in forest science and management of fast-growing, planted or natural forests in the Southern Hemisphere and the tropics. Papers are also encouraged on related disciplines such as environmental aspects of forestry, social forestry, agroforestry, forest engineering and management as well as the goods and services that are derived from forests as a whole. Articles published by the journal are of value to foresters, resource managers and society at large. The journal particularly encourages contributions from South America, Africa and tropical/subtropical Australasia and Asia. (updated Jan 20, 2011) The Journal aims to be the premier point of reference for modern starch related research and knowledge, having evolved from a focus on traditional processing of starches and their industrial applications.

The Centraalbureau voor Schimmelcultures (CBS) Fungal Biodiversiry Centre - an institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) and situated in Utrecht - maintains a world-renowned collection of living filamentous fungi, yeasts and bacteria. The Institute's research programs principally focus on the taxonomy and evolution of fungi as well as on functional aspects of fungal biology and ecology, increasingly making use of molecular and genomics approaches. The institute employs circa 70 personnel, among whom 20 scientists.

There is still a far from complete understanding of the complex ecosystems in the Neotropics, although they have been studied since the first expeditions of the old world naturalists Marcgrave, Humboldt, Spix, Darwin, Bates and Muller. The aims and scope of the Journal are, besides taxonomic and zoogeographic surveys, analyses of animal communities and their relationship with biotic and abiotic environmental conditions. This includes the fauna of both terrestrial and fresh water ecosystems in the Neotropics. Contributions that represent original research and mini-reviews are welcome. All published research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by independent expert referees. Subterranean Biology is an international journal published by Pensoft on behalf of the International Society for Subterranean Biology [SIBIOS] for the publication of original and significant contributions on all aspects of subterranean life. All published papers can be freely copied, downloaded, printed and distributed at no charge for the reader. Authors are thus encouraged to post the pdf files of published papers on their homepages or elsewhere to expedite distribution. There is no charge for color.

The structure of the journal takes into account the broad scope of R & D in sugar crops research and industry. Thus in addition to its full length and short papers on original research, the journal also includes regular features on editorial, review articles, meetings, scientific correspondence, sugar and brewery industry news, current references on the subject from other sources and book reviews.
