Advances in Mechanical Engineering is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes original research articles as well as review articles in all areas of mechanical engineering.
Computer Science and Information Systems (ComSIS) is an international refereed journal, published in Serbia. The objective of ComSIS is to communicate important research and development results in the areas of computer science, software engineering, and information systems. We publish original papers of lasting value covering both theoretical foundations of computer science and commercial, industrial, or educational aspects that provide new insights into design and implementation of software and information systems. ComSIS also welcomes surveys papers that contribute to the understanding of emerging and important fields of computer science. Regular columns of the journal cover reviews of newly published books, presentations of selected PhD and master theses, as well as information on forthcoming professional meetings. In addition to wide-scope regular issues, ComSIS also includes special issues covering specific topics in all areas of computer science and information systems.ComSIS publishes invited and regular papers in English. Papers that pass a strict reviewing procedure are accepted for publishing. ComSIS is published semiannually.ComSIS supports the Open Access policy of distribution of published manuscripts, ensuring "free availability on the public Internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of [published] articles". More information about the Open Access policy is available here. ComSIS charges a nominal fee for printed volumes only.
Geološki anali Balkanskoga poluostrva publishes original scientific contributions over a wide range of topics in any field of the geological sciences.
Chemical Industry is publishing papers in the field of chemical engineering, chemical technologies and chemistry by authors from the country and abroad. The journal is published bimonthly by the Association of Chemical Engineers (a member of EFCE - European Federation of Chemical Engineering). In addition to professional articles of importance to industry, scientific research papers are published, not only from our country but from all over the world. It also contains topics such as business news, science and technology news, information on new apparatus and equipment, and articles on environmental protection. A special issue of the Journal of Plastic and Rubber is also published.
The last quarter century has witnessed major advancements that have brought biomedical imaging to a paramount status in life sciences. As a prominent example, the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) was established in 2000 as the newest institute in the National Institutes of Health (NIH), USA. Generally speaking, the scope of biomedical imaging covers data acquisition, image reconstruction, and image analysis, involving theories, methods, systems, and applications. While tomographic and post-processing techniques become increasingly sophisticated, traditional and emerging modalities play more and more critical roles in anatomical, functional, cellular, and molecular imaging. The overall goal of the International Journal of Biomedical Imaging is to promote research and development of biomedical imaging by publishing high-quality research articles and reviews in this rapidly growing interdisciplinary field.International Journal of Biomedical Imaging is operated by a board of editors consisting of internationally known active researchers. The journal is made available online for free and can also be purchased in print. It utilizes a web-based review process for speedy turnaround up to high standards. In addition to regular issues, special issues will be organized by guest editors. Proposals for special issues should be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief. Subject areas include (but are not limited to):Digital radiography and tomosynthesisX-ray computed tomography (CT)Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)Single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT)Positron emission tomography (PET)Ultrasound imagingDiffuse optical tomography, coherence, fluorescence, bioluminescence tomography, impedance tomographyNeutron imaging for biomedical applicationsMagnetic and optical spectroscopy, and optical biopsyOptical, electron, scanning tunneling/atomic force microscopySmall animal imagingFunctional, cellular, and molecular imagingImaging assays for screening and molecular analysisMicroarray image analysis and bioinformaticsEmerging biomedical imaging techniquesImaging modality fusionBiomedical imaging instrumentationBiomedical image processing, pattern recognition, and analysisBiomedical image visualization, compression, transmission, and storageImaging and modeling related to systems biology and systems biomedicineApplied mathematics, applied physics, and chemistry related to biomedical imagingGrid-enabling technology for biomedical imaging and informatics.
The Journal of Cell Biology is an international peer-reviewed journal owned by The Rockefeller University and published by The Rockefeller University Press. In the early 1950s, a small group of biologists began to explore intracellular anatomy using the emerging technology of electron microscopy. Many of these researchers were at The Rockefeller Institute of Medicine, the predecessor of The Rockefeller University. As their work progressed to publication, they were disappointed with the limited quality of halftone image reproduction in the printed journals of the time, and they were frustrated by the narrow editorial policies of existing journals regarding their image-based results. In 1954, the director of The Rockefeller Institute, Detlev Bronk, convened a luncheon to discuss the creation of a new journal as a venue for publication of this type of work (Porter and Bennett, 1981).
