Luxury: History, Culture, Consumption is the first truly interdisciplinary, academic journal devoted to luxury, and satisfies the demand for scholarly, unbiased and penetrating thinking on the subject. The journal considers luxury in broad socio-cultural contexts, exploring and interrogating both our historical and contemporary understanding of the term.

Within the context of the contemporary global economic recession, our consumption of luxury is being questioned and indeed transformed, with notions of ‘affordable luxury’, ‘sustainable luxury’ and even ‘luxury for less’ suggesting a new discourse.  At the same time, the demand for luxury goods and services on a global scale is at an unprecedented level. Luxury examines all aspects of the subject: its historical formation and understanding, its contemporary global political and economic function, alongside an exploration of how the concept of luxury remains an impetus for design, popular culture, literature and fine art.

The journal publishes peer-reviewed papers from leading academics and commentators from a variety of disciplines providing an account of luxury that includes the historical, international, political and economic, alongside those directly concerned with the contemporary luxury industry. Each issue will demonstrate the breadth and interpretation of the term that its contemporary status demands and the contestation of luxury in the form of socio-political critique will generate challenging academic debate, establishing the journal as the leading forum for those interested in the field.

MAA Convergence is the Mathematical Association of America’s refereed online journal about the history of mathematics and its use in teaching. Articles in Convergence address how the historical topics they discuss have been—or could be—employed in a mathematics classroom. Peer review is ‘double blind’ Three reviews are sought, with reviewers providing commentary / feedback to the author(s); together with information confidential to the Editor and Editorial Administrator (and where required the Associate Editor), consisting of an evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of the submission on 6 criteria and a recommendation in terms of the decision for publication, revision and resubmission, or rejection. The decision to publish, require amendments or reject is based on the recommendations of the reviewers with the Editor adjudicating if a consensus has not been reached.

Marine Biology Research is the result of a successful merger of two well respected journals in the field of Marine Biology: Sarsia, North Atlantic Marine Science (published by Taylor & Francis in collaboration with the University of Bergen and the Institute of Marine Research, Norway) and Ophelia, International Journal of Marine Biology (published by Marine Biological Laboratory in collaboration with Freshwater Biological Laboratory, both University of Copenhagen). Sarsia and Ophelia were both established in the 1960's and have both become well respected international journals presenting original research on all aspects of oceanography and marine biology, Sarsia giving particular emphasis to results from Nordic and North Atlantic environments. Marine Biology Research has continued with similar aims and scopes in addition to presenting invited reviews and thematic issues on selected research topics to subscribers in over 40 different countries. Marine Georesources & Geotechnology publishes research applied to the scientific and engineering aspects, and the management and utilization, of seafloor sediments and rocks. The journal is intended for researchers and engineers, in both academia and industry, who seek solutions to problems in marine mineral resources and civil engineering. Areas covered range from marine minerals exploration and recovery to anchoring and mooring systems, bottom installations, and coastal engineering structures. Marine and Freshwater Behaviour and Physiology is devoted to the publication of papers on research into the behaviour and physiology of marine and freshwater animals. It covers field and laboratory studies of the behaviour and physiology of aquatic animals including * excretion * osmoregulation * digestion * respiration * feeding * migration * reproduction * tidal and biorhythms * neurobiology * movement * sensory biology * anatomy and fine structure (where embedded in a physiological context) The behaviour of aquatic animals, both natural and simulated in the laboratory, also fall within the ambit of the journal. The living resources of the world's oceans, rivers and lakes are attracting increasing attention as food sources for humans and for their role in global ecology. Thirty years ago maritime management decisions were taken on the basis of experience and hunch. Today, the experience is augmented by expert analysis and informed by research findings. Marriage & Family Review publishes a mix of open submission articles as well as thematic issues that bring together the most current research, practice, advances in theory development, and applications of knowledge on a particular topic in the field. Marriage & Family Review has historically welcomed open submissions from numerous international scholars and will continue to do so. The journal will continue to welcome manuscripts that concern family strengths and premarital relationship development. Another continued emphasis will be research-based manuscripts concerning controversial issues. Marriage & Family Review is also interested in manuscripts that present evidence for the reliability and validity of new measurement instruments in family studies or review such evidence for older measures. Also of interest would be scholarly manuscripts that discuss newer, high risk methodologies that may be applicable to family theory testing and data analysis. A new aim of Marriage & Family Review will be the publication of reviews of the literature of an intermediate level. For example, Journal of Marriage and Family regularly publishes "Decade in Review" articles that summarize the previous decade's research in a major area of research (e.g., marital interaction). Marriage & Family Review wishes to complement such reviews by focusing on reviews that concern the previous five to twenty years of research in a more concentrated area of study (e.g., marital interaction among military couples). At least one issue a year will be dedicated to such reviews. Doctoral candidates in particular may wish to consider Marriage & Family Review as a professional outlet for their literature review work. A new focus for Marriage & Family Review also will be brief commentaries on previously published articles, with priority given to articles previously published in Marriage & Family Review, then articles published in other major family journals that do not accept such commentaries or feedback, and lastly, commentaries that, although being theoretically and methodologically sound, have been rejected by major family journals. Rebuttals to any such comments will also be welcomed enthusiastically. Family scholars are invited to suggest particular thematic special issues for the journal's consideration, including guest editors for those special issues.
