Journal of Contemporary European Studies

ISSN: 1478-2804eISSN: 1478-2790

The Journal of Contemporary European Studies (previously Journal of European Area Studies) seeks to provide a forum for interdisciplinary debate about the theory and practice of area studies as well as for empirical studies of European societies, politics and cultures. The central area focus of the journal is European in its broadest geographical definition. However, the examination of European 'areas' and themes are enhanced as a matter of editorial policy by non-European perspectives. The Journal intends to attract the interest of both cross-national and single-country specialists in European studies and to counteract the worst features of Eurocentrism with coverage of non-European views on European themes. The Journal of Contemporary European Studies pursues a thematic approach to individual issues by dedicating a section of each issue to the examination of a specific theme, although there is also ample scope for outstanding individual articles that are not related to the theme of each issue. In addition, each issue contains a section reserved for contributions in the debate on the theory and practice of area studies. In line with the Journal's commitment to the encouragement and promotion of debate, the editorial board welcomes critical replies to articles that have appeared in earlier issues. The journal also has a strong reviews section, which always includes a large number of reviews on recently published books relating to issue themes. The journal continues to draw contributors from European and area studies departments and from a variety of disciplines within the humanities and the social sciences, and features regular articles on the advantages, scope and limitations of interdisciplinarity.Peer Review Policy:All research articles published in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two anonymous referees.Disclaimer for scientific, technical and social science publications:Taylor & Francis makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of all the information (the "Content") contained in its publications. Journal of Coordination Chemistry

ISSN: 0095-8972eISSN: 1029-0389

The Journal of Coordination Chemistry publishes the results of original investigations involving the physical and chemical properties, syntheses and structures of coordination compounds. Its scope may be defined as being concerned with the interactions of organic and inorganic ligands with metal centres. Material on applications of coordination compounds may be included when relevant. Short reviews of current research in coordination chemistry will also be considered for publication. In addition to full articles, preliminary communications of results (up to 1000 words) may be submitted. The journal intends to shorten considerably the time between receipt, acceptance and publication of such articles in order to provide a mechanism for speedy publication of preliminary accounts of original and significant findings in coordination chemistry. Short articles that lack urgency are also acceptable to the journal and will be published in due course, as long as the desire to avoid multiple publication is met.The Editor also welcomes review articles in all areas of coordination chemistry, including inorganic solid state chemistry, organometallic chemistry and bioinorganic chemistry, as well as applications to analytical chemistry, catalysis, industrial chemistry and materials science. Articles may focus primarily on the metal, the ligand or the application. Given the limitation in length for the reviews, two extreme cases can be envisaged. Topics of emerging interest should be developed fully from basics. Careful attention must be paid to the way in which the new area relates to the field in general. Reviews of well-established subjects should collect developments from the literature and take a critical view of recent activities. Books for review should be sent to the Editor, at the address here. All published research articles in the Journal of Coordination Chemistry have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two expert reviewers.DisclaimerTaylor & Francis makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of all the information (the "Content") contained in its publications. Call for Papers
Journal of Cost Analysis and Parametrics

Editor-in-Chief: Ricardo Valerdi, University of Arizona
Managing Editor: Christian Smart, Missile Defense Agency

The Journal of Cost Analysis and Parametrics is the official publication of the International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association. It is a scholarly journal featuring peer-reviewed articles that provide the latest developments in cost estimating, cost analysis, and cost management. Its objective is to improve the theory and practice of cost estimating, analysis, management, and research results among cost-analysis educators and practitioners around the world.

The Journal seeks to publish research that is interesting, intellectually rigorous, and advances the body of knowledge of cost analysis and parametrics. Papers involving a variety of topics, settings, and research methods are solicited. Manuscripts related to a broad range of application areas for any sector of the economy including manufacturing, financial services, construction, retail, defense, and not-for-profit are desired. New theories, topical areas, and research methods are encouraged. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Cost model development and validation
  • Decision analysis
  • Risk and uncertainty
  • Simulation
  • Trade studies
  • Learning curves
  • Productivity assessment
  • Earned value management
  • Design to cost
  • Lifecycle costing
  • Statistical techniques for analyzing data
  • Data visualization

Submissions will be evaluated based on their: (1) readability; (2) relevance; and (3) reliability. All papers accepted for publication in the Journal must have a high level of readability. Poor readability can impede the ability of a reviewer to evaluate the contribution of a paper and may lead to rejection. It is necessary to ensure the paper can be readily understood by individuals involved in the area discussed in the paper. References should not impede the flow of the paper and unnecessary obscure jargon should not be used. If applicable, details of the statistical methodology should be in an appendix rather than in the body of the paper if they are not central to the focus of the manuscript.

The second criterion is relevance. A paper is relevant if it has the potential to influence cost estimating, analysis, or management. A paper that appeals to a broad spectrum of readers or is unique or innovative has a better possibility of influencing practice and theory development and therefore, is more relevant than a paper without these features.

The third criterion is reliability. The paper is reliable if the conclusions of the paper can be reasonably inferred from the arguments. Reliability is easier to assess when a paper is statistical or involves empirical research with which the reviewer is familiar. Authors can improve the probability of acceptance of a paper by including a section on the limitations of the research techniques.

Authors are advised to consult previous issues of JCAP – and its predecessor journals – for suitable topics to submit for consideration. For questions from potential authors please contact Ricardo Valerdi, Editor-in-Chief (rvalerdi@arizona.edu).

All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. All peer review is double blind and submission is online via ScholarOne Manuscripts.

Journal of Cultural Economy

ISSN: 1753-0350eISSN: 1753-0369

Journal of Cultural Economy is part of the Culture, Economy and the Social publishing programme of the ESRC Centre for Research on Socio Cultural Change (CRESC). Its concern is with the role played by various forms of material cultural practice in the organisation of the economy and the social, and of the relations between them. As such it will provide a unique interdisciplinary forum for work on these questions from across the social sciences and humanities. These include the contributions of actor network theory and science studies to debates about the 8216;performativity' of the economy and the social and the parallel discussions about the distributive nature of economic and social agency across networks of things and persons that is evident in social anthropology, and material culture studies. In cultural studies, feminism and sociology, a range of perspectives have been deployed to explore the making up of social and organizational identities, and this has been complemented by approaches to the governance of economies and of the social stimulated by Foucault's work on 8216;governmentality'. This has been paralleled by important historical work on the relations between culture, economy and the social. A renewed focus on material cultures of production and consumption has also been animated by the work of Gilles Deleuze and of Pierre Bourdieu. While all of these approaches to the relations between culture, economy and the social have interacted with and influenced each other, there has been a relative shortage of debate across and between them. Journal of Cultural Economy seeks to remedy this deficiency by providing the premiere forum for debating the relations between culture, economy and the social in all their various manifestations.Peer Review Policy:Published articles in Journal of Cultural Economy have all been subjected to rigorous peer review comprising initial editorial screening and anonymous refereeing by at least two referees.
